FDMEE Fails to Consistently Send Data to PBCS

An EPM focused integration point that is becoming more and more common involves customers who have on-premise FDMEE and then connect it to PBCS.  The overall integration is pretty straight forward, and requires importing the PBCS Certificates into the cacerts store for EPM, and then setting up a Target application in FDMEE with the user credentials from PBCS that have access to the PBCS application.

One item that we have run into at iArch Solutions, is that sometimes the FDMEE load will work, and other times you will get a hostname validation error in the FDMEE load log.  The solution is pretty straight forward, and documented by Oracle, but you need access to WebLogic Admin Console to apply it.

Since we’re interacting with the certificates, the changes is made under the EPRIntegrator0 (and/or ERPIntegrator1 server if clustered) server in WebLogic’s Admin Console.  You can reach this by logging into http://hostname:7001/console.  Once logged in, you can simply select Servers | ERPIntegrator0.

Once that opens, select the SSL tab and at the bottom of that tab, you can select Advanced Options.

Then click Lock & Edit to make changes, and change the value of the Hostname Verification to ‘None’:

Once that’s set, you click Save and Release the Configuration. You should then restart the FDMEE service and re-try your integration, and this error should go away.

As always, if you need assistance with your Cloud technologies, EPM infrastructure or applications, or just IT support in general, reach out to iArch Solutions. We’re here and we’re always happy to help!
